Bahria University College of Medicine was honored to host Dr. Chris Schmotzer, Medical Director of Rawalpindi Leprosy Hospital, for a special lecture on Leprosy! The event, organized by the Department of Community Medicine and Public Health, covered leprosy facts, statistics, management, and rehabilitation. Dr. Schmotzer shared valuable insights on working towards WHO's goal of zero leprosy cases by 2030.

 

A WHO focal person for Leprosy with over 35 years of experience, Dr. Schmotzer has dedicated her life to serving Pakistan's poor and needy since 1988. Recipient of Germany's highest civil award and Sitara-i-Quaid-e-Azam, she continues to train healthcare professionals and work towards leprosy eradication in Pakistan.
