Seminar on “Impact of Nano-Innovations on Global Health Challenges and Precision Medicine”

The Research Cell organized a Seminar on “Impact of Nano-Innovations on Global Health Challenges and Precision Medicine” on 18 May 2026 at Lecture Hall 1 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. The session was arranged for faculty members to highlight the role of nanoscience and interdisciplinary research in addressing global health challenges and advancing precision medicine.

The seminar was moderated by Dr. Maryam Arshad, Research Officer, who welcomed the participants and introduced the distinguished speakers. The session provided a valuable platform for academic learning, research collaboration, and discussion on innovative healthcare solutions.

Distinguished Speakers

Dr. Shamaila Sajjad
Head of CIRBS, IIUI, and recognized among the Top 2% Scientists Worldwide by Stanford University and Elsevier (2023). Her expertise is in nanoscience and nanotechnology, and she has established multiple nano-based laboratories through HEC-funded projects.

Dr. Ikram Ullah
A pioneer faculty member at SA-CIRBS, IIUI, specializing in neuroscience research related to traumatic brain injury, depression, obesity, diabetes, and metabolic disorders.

Dr. Rukhsanda Aziz
Associate Professor of Environmental Sciences at CIRBS, IIUI. Her research focuses on food safety, environmental sustainability, and interdisciplinary scientific research.

Dr. Farhan Younas
Research group leader at CIRBS, IIUI, working on multidrug resistance in bacteria and innovative treatment approaches.

The seminar concluded with an interactive discussion session, where participants engaged with the speakers and explored emerging research trends in nanotechnology, neuroscience, environmental sciences, and microbial resistance. The session proved highly informative and beneficial for the faculty members.
